Super Metro bus has been burnt between Juja Town and Juja City Mall along the Thika Superhighway.
Preliminary reports indicate that the bus was set ablaze in Juja after it fatally knocked dead a bodaboda rider.
The incident happened on the afternoon of Monday, September 1, and Super Metro Sacco has not responded yet.
Footages seen by The Kenya Times show that the bus was burnt beyond repair.
There was a group of onlookers as the bus burned down.
It remains unclear whether there were passengers aboard the bus at the time of the incident.
The incident caused a huge traffic buildup from Burudani area towards Juja Town.
Motorists Association of Kenya Confirms Accident
The Motorists Association of Kenya (MAK) has also confirmed the incident.
In a statement, the Association said the bus reportedly hit a boda boda rider.
“Said to have collided with a boda boda at Juja. Following for more information,” MAK said.
There were also photos showing the motorbike that the bodaboda rider was riding during the accident.
The motorbike was badly damaged, with some parts scattered on the road.
Some of the eyewitnesses who were reportedly at the scene also took to social media to ask for help moments before the incident.
They alleged that some unnamed people wanted to set the Super Metro on fire.

City Shuttle Bus Burnt
This marks the second high-profile bus torching by boda boda operators in less than a month.
Boda boda riders burnt a City Shuttle bus on the morning of August 7, 2025, along Jogoo Road in Nairobi.
The riders torched the bus after it ran over a motorbike rider at the Jogoo Road–Outering interchange.
Reports indicate that the rider died on the spot, sparking anger among his colleagues, who in turn set the bus ablaze.

Super Metro Bus Catches Fire
It also comes barley a month after another Super Metro bus caught fire.
The bus burnt on the evening of August 6, along Naivasha Road, Nairobi.
The bus was engulfed in an environment with buildings and fences.
It is unclear whether the bus was heading to Ngong Road, and the Sacco did not comment on the issue.
