A teacher from Mikindani Primary School in Jomvu died after a tragic road accident on the evening of Thursday, July 3, in Mombasa County.
The accident occurred in the Maasai area along the Taita Taveta–Mombasa highway.
The teacher was accompanying the students on their way from Kenyatta High School where they had participated in the regional music and drama festival.
Two students were left with severe injuries while 10 others suffered minor injuries in the accident.
The injured students were taken to the Mikindani medical for treatment.
Jomvu Member of Parliament (MP) Badi Twalib visited Mikindani Comprehensive School to check on the students.
He also spoke with the parents who came seeking answers and reassurance after the unfortunate accident.
Twalib vowed to stand with the parents during this trying time and committed to supporting every affected family as they pray for a full recovery and healing.
“I visited the students receiving treatment at Mikindani Hospital following the heartbreaking road accident in the Masai area of Taita Taveta an accident that tragically claimed the life of a devoted teacher who had accompanied them for the music festival,” Twalib said.

Area MP to Pay Hospital Bills
Twalib shared words of comfort, helped calm the situation, and urged everyone to remain patient as they await further updates.
He also promised to pay for the hospital bills of all the injured students.
“I have pledged to cover all medical expenses for the injured students and want to assure the entire community of my full support during this difficult time,” he said.

Mikindani Ward MCA Condolence Message
Mikindani Ward MCA Jactone Madialo also confirmed the accident.
Madialo met with the parents and affected families on Thursday, July 4 night.
He sent his condolences to the teacher’s family but confirmed that the injured students were in good shape.
”A bus carrying pupils and teachers from Mikindani Primary school got involved in a road accident, leading to a teacher losing her life and some pupils incurring injuries. Tonight I paid a visit to the school, where I met parents who are understandably anxious,” Madialo said.
”We are informed that the rest of the pupils will arrive tomorrow morning. May God grant peace and strength to the departed’s family, friends, and colleagues, and quick recovery to the injured.”
