Centum Investment Company Plc has informed its shareholders and the public of changes to its Board of Directors.
In a notice dated July 15, the Board Chairman, Dr. Donald Kaberuka, announced the appointment of David Ssegawa and Richard Kiplagat as Independent Non-Executive Directors.
Kaberuka said Susan Githuku has stepped down from the Board after serving for eight years.
He explained that the changes reflect the Company’s continued commitment to strong governance and strategic leadership.
The Board described Ssegawa as a highly accomplished Human Resources expert.
He has over 26 years of extensive experience from both private and public global organizations.
Ssegawa has led organisation-wide transformations as well as Leadership and Culture Development strategies.
He is currently the Group Human Resources Director at the Equity Group Holdings.
Ssegawa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work & Social Administration from Makerere University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Leicester.
“His commitment to professional development is further underscored by his completion of the Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School and ongoing PHD program in Global Leadership,” Kaberuka said.
Kiplagat Joins Centum Investment
Kiplagat has over 30 years of multifaceted experience across the private sector, public service, and civil society.
He is a seasoned board member and corporate leader, and well-regarded for his stakeholder engagement and strategic advisory capabilities.
“His appointment strengthens the Board’s depth in public policy, strategy, and sustainability,” Kaberuka stated.

Kiplagat holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from the University of Toronto, with a specialization in the Political Economy of Developing Countries.
He has also undertaken studies in Global Climate Change and Energy Policy at Harvard Kennedy School and holds a Mwongozo Corporate Governance Certificate.
“The Board warmly welcomes Ssegawa and Kiplagat and looks forward to the significant value they will bring to the Group’s governance and long-term strategic direction,” the Chairman said.

Susan Githuku Steps Down
The Board thanked Githuku as she exits the Company having served for 8 years.
During her tenure, she served with distinction, including as Chairperson of the Board Nominations and Governance Committee.
Kaberuka said Githuku’s leadership and insights were instrumental in shaping Centum’s governance and leadership agenda through various strategic cycles.
“The Board extends its deepest appreciation to Githuku for her invaluable contributions and wishes her continued success in her future pursuits,” he said.
