M-Gas is a pay-as-you-cook system that makes clean cooking accessible and affordable for everyone. Customers can purchase gas in small, pre-paid amounts, paying only for what they need, and when they need it.
Payments are made through M-PESA, and the gas supply is automatically paused when the prepaid amount is used up, ensuring full control over usage and spending.
It features a smart meter attached to the LPG cylinder that tracks gas consumption in real-time and automatically triggers a free cylinder replacement when levels run low, eliminating the need for service calls or delivery scheduling.
With M-Gas, families can cook clean, safely, and affordably using whatever amount they have in their pocket.
How M-Gas Works
1. Signing Up and Delivery
Customers sign up for M-Gas, and a sales agent provides more information. M-Gas then delivers and installs the gas cylinder and stove at no upfront cost.
2. Top-up with M-PESA
Customers top up their M-Gas credit using M-PESA by paying to the PayBill number 804040.
3. Pay-As-You-Cook
The system uses a smart meter to allow customers to pay for gas in small amounts, as little as KES 1, enabling them to cook with what they can afford.

4. Smart Meter and Low-Fuel Alert
The smart meter monitors gas usage and sends a signal when the gas is running low. M-Gas then schedules a free cylinder change at the customer’s convenience.
5.No Upfront Costs
Customers do not need to pay for the gas cylinder or cooker upfront.
6. Convenience and Safety
The system offers a convenient and safe alternative to traditional gas cooking, especially for low-income households, by allowing them to cook in small amounts and ensuring they don’t run out of gas.
