Kenya Airways has been crowned Africa’s Leading Airline at the prestigious 2025 World Travel Awards Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony, held at Johari Rotana in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The national carrier also clinched top accolades in multiple categories, including Africa’s Leading Airline Business Class, Leading Inflight Magazine (Msafiri), and Leading Airline Brand.
“We’re proud to be named: Africa’s Leading Airline… Thank you for choosing to fly with The Pride of Africa,” Kenya Airways said in a statement.
The awards recognize excellence in the travel and tourism industry, and Kenya Airways’ latest wins reaffirm its position as a regional and continental aviation leader.
The airline’s commitment to innovation, customer experience, and operational excellence has helped cement its status as a favourite among travellers across Africa and beyond.

The World Travel Awards Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony 2025 brought together leading travel and tourism brands to celebrate excellence in the industry.

Tanzania emerged as a major tourism force, winning Africa’s Leading Destination, while Serengeti National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro won in the categories of Africa’s Leading National Park and Mountain National Park, respectively.
Zanzibar was named Africa’s Leading Beach Destination.
In other major wins, the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club earned the title of Africa’s Leading Hotel, and Singita Milele in Tanzania was honoured as Africa’s Leading New Hotel.
Julius Nyerere International Airport was also named Africa’s Leading Airport, showing Tanzania’s growing prominence in global travel.
