Kenya Airways (KQ) has unveiled its latest plans to bolster its expanding network by enhancing frequencies to five destinations and incorporating Eldoret and Maputo into its service.
In a statement shared on February 23, 2024, the company’s Chief Commercial and Customer Officer, Julius Thairu, affirmed the airline’s commitment to strategic growth.
“In response to the steady recovery and demand for air travel we have expanded our operations with increased frequencies to five destinations within our network and expanded our Africa network to Eldoret, Kenya, and Maputo, Mozambique.” Thairu remarked.
He further emphasized that the expansion aligns with the airline’s mission of fostering Africa’s growth through enhanced connectivity.
“Our focus for FY2024 will be to continue with strategic and targeted growth to meet growing demand as the airline targets bottom line revenue growth.” said KQ’s customer officer.
“The network expansion is reflective of our mission of propelling Africa’s growth by connecting its people, cultures, and markets.”
Kenya Airways New Destinations
Regarding the new destinations, from March 25th, 2024, Kenya Airways will begin operating five weekly flights to Eldoret, Kenya, from its Nairobi, providing travelers with increased access on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Additionally, commencing June 14th, 2024, KQ will introduce thrice-weekly flights to Maputo, Mozambique, from its Nairobi hub.
Flights will be available on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Countries With Increased Frequencies
Moreover, starting from June 15th, 2024, the national carrier will increase its peak frequencies to New York, offering two additional weekly flights, catering to heightened demand with services on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Similarly, effective July 5th, 2024, KQ will increase its frequency to Paris, adding flights on Friday and Sundays to accommodate anticipated Olympic travels.
Furthermore, from June 2nd, 2024, Kenya Airways will boost capacity to Accra and Freetown by deploying the B787-8 aircraft.
This enhancement aims to provide passengers with more comfortable and convenient travel options to these destinations.
Kenya Airways will also add three additional flights to Lagos, Nigeria.

Beginning April 1st, 2024, passengers can enjoy one extra weekly flight on Saturdays, followed by two additional flights starting June 3rd, 2024, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
All these new destinations and increased frequencies are now available for booking via the Global Distribution Systems (GDS) website.
This marks a significant stride for Kenya Airways in solidifying its positions as a leader carrier in Africa’s Aviation landscape.
