KTDA Announces Auction of Vehicles for as Low as Ksh400K; How to Buy

Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) has announced the sale of motor vehicles, used machinery, and various assorted items.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, December 4, KTDA Ltd, on behalf of its managed tea factories and subsidiary (TEMEC), invited bids from tenderers interested in purchasing boarded motor vehicles, used machinery, and assorted items.

The agency is offering a Ford Ranger D/CAB for Ksh 400,000 and a Mitsubishi FH 215 for Ksh 450,000.

Other vehicles on sale include an Isuzu FSR, Toyota Hilux, Toyota Corolla, Massey Ferguson MY, Toyota Hilux S/CAB, Isuzu FVR Tipper, and Nissan Navara D/CAB.

KTDA Puts on Sale Assorted Items and Used Machinery

Under the machinery category used, the agency sells a 3-stage dryer of Kilburn make, a boiler of Babcock Robey make, and a universal cylindrical grinding machine.

Additionally, the tea agency has listed assorted items for sale, including UPS units, switches, projectors, shredders, PABX systems, and telephone handsets.

The sale also includes 60 office chairs, 10 office cabinets, five office tables, three fire suppression system cylinders, 16 old tyres, and six assorted pieces of furniture (desks).

Bidding Fee

A non-refundable tender fee of Ksh 2,000 is required per item for motor vehicles, used machinery, or assorted items.

Additionally, a refundable advance tender deposit of Ksh 5,000 is applicable for each motor vehicle tendered.

Payments for the tender fee and tender deposit must be made in cash to the KTDA Management Services Ltd bank account at any Family Bank branch. The account details are as follows:

Detailed tender documents may be obtained from the procurement office located on the 3rd floor, Majani Plaza, Koinange Street Nairobi during office hours.

This is upon payment of the prescribed non-refundable tender fee per vehicle/used machinery/category of assorted Items.

The documents may be requested upon payment by emailing procurement@ktdateas.com.

Furthermore, the sale of all the above-listed items shall be on “As Is Where is Basis”.

How to Bid

All interested bidders are advised to visit the respective locations indicated above for each item and carry out their own assessment before making their final bids.

Viewing of the items will be by arrangement with the officer in charge of the factory/location where the item is located

Tender documents together with the original receipts obtained from the KTDA cash office should be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked “Tender Ref. No. KTDA/ PROC/142/2024-Sale of Boarded Motor Vehicles, Used Machinery and Other Assorted Items”.

This should be deposited in the tender box at the reception on the ground floor, KTDA Farmers Building, Moi Avenue Nairobi and addressed to:

The Managing Director, KTDA Management Services Ltd P.O. Box 30213-00100 GPO, Nairobi.

The documents should be received no later than 9.00 am on Tuesday 17th December 2024.
