Lawrence Kibet Appointed Treasury’s New DG Public Investments and Portfolio Management

The National Treasury has appointed Lawrence Kibet as the new Director General (DG) of Public Investments and Portfolio Management.

The DG’s responsibilities include coordinating, managing, and providing leadership in government investments and public enterprises, assets and liabilities, among others.

Some of the sectors to which he has been exposed include finance and banking, energy and petroleum, telecommunications and technology, logistics, and consumer products.

Others include banking, agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and commercial services in numerous markets across Africa.

Kibet holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce (Finance Option) and Law (LL.B.) as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nairobi.

Moreover, he is a member of professional bodies such as the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK), Law Society of Kenya (LSK), and Investor Relations Society (UK).
