Safaricom
Safaricom is Kenya’s leading telecommunications company and one of East Africa’s most influential corporations.
Established in 1997, the company provides a wide range of services, including mobile voice, messaging, data, financial services, and digital solutions.
It recently expanded its operations into the neighbouring country of Ethiopia. Safaricom Ethiopia, a subsidiary of the Kenyan mobile operator, officially launched its services in Ethiopia in 2022.

Equity Bank
Equity Bank has successfully expanded its footprint across East Africa, opening branches in multiple countries, including Uganda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In Uganda, Equity Bank Uganda Limited operates 50 branches as of July 2021. The newest branch in Ntungamo was opened in April 2023, showcasing the bank’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the region.
Nation Media Group (NMG)
Nation Media Group (NMG) has been a dominant force in the Kenyan media industry for over two decades and has expanded its operations throughout East Africa.
