Siaya County police officers are probing the death of a man whose body was found buried in a shallow grave after going missing in February.
The body was found buried in his plot in the Aringo estate in Siaya town last night.
The deceased is said to have vanished in February this year. According to the area residents and neighbors, someone looking for a rental home in the two-house plot where the body was buried found the shallow grave.
Furthermore, the house-seeker was allegedly directed by a relative of the deceased to see if he could stay in that plot after the deceased went missing eight months earlier.
However, the prospective tenant was shocked to find a shallow grave next to the houses when he went to the plot to look at the house.

He then called the relative who had given him the directions to inform him of the disturbing scene. They then alerted detectives from Siaya County police station who came to assess the situation.
Nevertheless, the decomposed body which was wrapped in a blanket was moved to Siaya County Referral hospital mortuary.
While confirming the incident, Siaya Sub-County Police Commander Benedict Mwangangi noted that investigations have already been launched into the matter to establish who killed and buried the man.
