IEBC Urges Pre-2012 Voters to Re-Register
At the same time, IEBC has urged Kenyans who registered as voters before 2012 to re-register, noting that they are not included in the current biometric Register of Voters (RoV).
The Electoral body Chairperson Erastus Edung Ethekon explained that the existing register was created after the 2012 electoral reforms, which introduced biometric registration.
“As a result, anyone who registered before 2012 is not captured in the biometric RoV unless they have gone through fresh registration since then,” Ethekon stated.
“Such persons are, therefore, required to register afresh in order to be included in the current biometric register.”
