The Ministry of Health has raised concern over the rising cases of teen pregnancy, HIV cases and sexual violence incidences in Meru County.
Moreover, on Thursday, July 14, the National AIDS Control Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, the National Council for Population and Development and the Meru county government organized a sensitization forum to discuss ways to prevent these vices.
In addition, Health PS Susan Mochache reported that statistics show the county leads in cases of early pregnancy at 38%.
According to the statistics more than 10,000 girls have been reported pregnant in the county, between January and May this year, leading to their dropping out of school.

During the sensitization program, the speakers warned culprits against vices like sexual assault, saying action will be taken against them.
