Motorists in Nairobi have been cautioned of expected traffic disruption along Lang’ata Road over the weekend. Events production, travel and ticketing company Madfun in a traffic advisory on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, cautioned motorists ahead of the Madfun Xperience music concert.
The Madfun Xperience, featuring Nigerian music powerhouse Burna Boy was to take place on December 30, 2024, at the Nairobi Polo Club Grounds.

The Grammy Award-winning Afrofusion star is renowned for his genre-blending sound and chart-topping hits like “Anybody,” “Last Last,” and “Ye.”
With his distinct Afrobeat rhythms and magnetic stage presence, the African Giant was set to close out December in style.

However, the concert was rescheduled to March 1, 2025, at the Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.
Madfun Xperience traffic advisory on Lang’ata Road
Madfun in the advisory said that the Saturday music concert will cause significant traffic disruptions along the busy Lang’ata Road.

While issuing a recommendation for planning, the event organizer said that road closures, detours and congestion, are expected.
“We would like to inform you that the Madfunxperience at Uhuru Gardens (off Langata Rd) will cause significant traffic disruptions. Expect road closures, detours and congestion, especially during the start and end of the event,” read part of the advisory.
“To minimize delays, we recommend planning ahead, allowing extra travel time and considering alternative routes.”
Madfun Xperience music concert attendees have been informed that gates will open at 3 pm and close at 9 pm.
According to the travel and event company, there will be no entry to the venue after 9 pm.
Regular ticket holders were further encouraged to use public transport (Uber, Matatus and Motorbikes), with the event organizer noting that there is very limited parking at Ulinzi Sports Complex.
“Please ensure you are aware of the correct access points based on your ticket type,” added Madfun.
“Stay informed on traffic updates via Madfun and follow all signage and instructions from authorities.”
The Lang’ata Road traffic advisory comes after the travel company on February 5 while officially announcing the Madfun Xperience said the concert was going to be one of Kenya’s biggest entertainment events, bringing together music lovers from across Africa and beyond.
Burna Boy to headline event
Joining Burna Boy on stage will be some of Africa’s finest talents. Among them, Kenyan Afro-pop star Charisma who shared his enthusiam during the official concert announcement.

Charisma, known for his high-energy performances and smooth vocals, said he sees the concert as a defining moment in his career.
“This is a dream moment, and I’m ready to give fans an unforgettable show,” he stated.
Also performing at the event is South African Amapiano DJ and producer Virgo Deep, one of the pioneers of the genre.
Adding even more excitement to the star-studded lineup is Kenyan sensation Bensoul known for hits like “Forget You” and “Nairobi.”
Madfun said that security is a top priority during the event with thousands of attendees expected.
Nairobi Regional Sub-County Police Commander Monica Kimani while also speaking during the official announcement’s press conference assured concertgoers that stringent security measures will be put in place.
“There will be no room for any aspect of criminality. We will also secure hotels where guests are staying and ensure smooth traffic flow,” she stated.
