The meeting considered the purported NEC resolution of 24 April 2026, which sought the removal of the FKF President and other federation officials.
Additionally, the Assembly also examined concerns over repeated failure to attend duly convened NEC meetings, unauthorized communication on behalf of the federation, and actions considered contrary to the federation’s governing Constitution and applicable football regulations.
Mariga Protected by RDU Officers
Before the decision was delivered, FKF Vice President McDonald Mariga arrived at Three Steers Hotel in Meru under tight security from the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU).
Police lobbed tear gas inside the premises to flush out armed individuals reportedly occupying several hotel rooms.
The incident unfolded ahead of the federation’s Special General Meeting, scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM on November 7.
Security also evacuated individuals described as goons from the hotel rooms.
Further reports indicated that the entire hotel had been booked by a faction allied to the FKF President, with some of the individuals reportedly occupying different rooms within the premises
Meanwhile, delegates perceived to be allied to the NEC 7 were reportedly denied access to the meeting, raising concerns over the participation of accredited representatives in the proceedings.
“We have to get the delegates who have been pelted with stones and chased away by goons as they attempted to access the Special General Meeting (SGM) venue; they are still outside,” FKF Vice President McDonald Mariga told the RDU officers present at the hotel.
The chaos comes a day after FKF National Executive Committee member Abdalla Yusuf was reportedly assaulted and rushed to hospital by RDU officers after sustaining an injury to his arm.
