Kuria West police officers have launched a manhunt for ten suspected robbers who have been terrorizing Migori County residents.
According to the Kuria West sub county police commander Cleti Kimaiyo, a businessman in the county is the latest victim after losing Ksh. 320,000 shillings to the armed robbers.
“The gang was armed with three firearms, an AK-47 rifle and two pistols. They attacked the businessman in Nyaborararo village on October 19,2022,” Kimaiyo stated.
Furthermore, the police report states that the armed robbers held the family of the victim hostage for at least two hours as they carried out the robbery.

Likewise, the police commander reported that the armed robbers forced the businessman to transfer the money from his account to his wife’s mobile number. After which, they took the woman’s Identity Card and withdrew the money.
Police also noted that the two victims who sustained injuries were rushed to Moshi Hospital where they were treated and discharged.
Nonetheless, a search for the suspected robbers is underway.
