A Multi-Agency security team recovered livestock that was stolen by bandits in Baringo North.
The security agency recovered 87 cows and 26 goats on Thursday, March 16.
Moreover, the security team working in the operation dubbed ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu North Rift’ handed over the livestock to the rightful owners after positive identification.
“The animals were stolen from Chemoe and Kagir Villages in Baringo North, and recovered from the bandits after a fierce fire exchange,” the National Police Service reported.
This comes after bandits killed a man on Tuesday, March 14 in Kagir village in Saimo Soi ward, Baringo North and allegedly stole 200 goats belonging to two families.
According to the area chief, the deceased identified as Kakuko Chebor, was sprayed with bullets by the bandits who also stole unknown number of livestock.

“The attack took place near Kagir Primary School which is along the borderline,” he said
The chief further added that the two residents, Margaret Kebut and Joseph Chesundu, were left counting losses after their livestock was stolen during the attack.
He claimed the bandits drove the stolen livestock towards Kositei and Seretion villages in the Tiaty sub-county.
Nonetheless, the area chief asked the government to disarm the bandits to restore security in the region.
