Ruto Pledges to Combat Femicide Cases
This comes after the National Police Service (NPS) revealed that murders of women have increased, with 97 cases reported in the last three months.
Speaking on November 3, President William Ruto stated that the government will do everything possible to combat cases of femicide in the country.
Ruto emphasized that the government will provide resources to the police to address the crime.
He remarked that the increase in femicide cases presents both a criminal and moral crisis for the country.
“Our girls are being killed. People who we should be showing love, people who we should be loving, are being killed. How can it be that our girls, the Kenyan women who expect us to love them, are dying at the hands of men?” he posed.
