Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has announced a new security stance following incident at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi, where suspected goons disrupted activities.
Speaking during a church service at AIC Plainsview, Nairobi on June 14 2026, Murkomen said security agencies are investigating the matter after CCTV footage captured individuals believed to have been involved in the incident.
“There was an unfortunate incident which happened in ACK Church, that is All Saints, and I must say that that was really extremely unfortunate and unacceptable. We know that they were captured in a CCTV camera, the DCI is already analyzing that CCTV camera, a number of them, one of them was arrested immediately and a number are being arrested. We will take those people to court and they will be held to account,” said Murkomen.
Murkomen also revealed that one suspect was arrested immediately at the scene, while while detectives continue to probe the matter.
The CS confirmed that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is currently analyzing CCTV footage from the church to identify all individuals involved.
He, also stated that follow-up operations have already led to more arrests, with the police working to dismantle what he described as organized groups.

Murkomen Orders Security Crackdown on Goons
Murkomen outlined a series of security measures aimed at curbing similar attacks following the disruption at All Saints Cathedral Nairobi by goons.
In his speech, Murkomen said the government will intensify arrests and prosecutions of individuals involved in such incidents, and that those identified will be taken to court and held accountable.
He added that the security agencies will intensify operations targeting organized gangs in Nairobi and other urban areas.
Murkomen highlighted the strengthening of the Nairobi Metropolitan Police structure an operational measure to provide rapid response, intelligence gathering, and coordination within the capital.
In addition, he said that increasing manpower within the police service is a major boost to security operations, noting that about 10,000 newly recruited officers will soon join service after completing training,
“Our next phase of security operation is to exterminate this threat of gangs, and I want to promise the nation that with the Nairobi Metropolitan Police and with the efforts we have put in place to fight these gangs, we are going to succeed. We have already succeeded in a number of towns, including Nakuru, including Kitale,” added Murkomen.
CCTV Footage Reveals Shocking Sequence of Events During All Saints Cathedral Incident
CCTV footage from All Saints Cathedral Nairobi has revealed coordinated disruption that unfolded on June 12, 2026, and robberies along Valley Road.
The first incident reportedly occurred at 9:39 AM when motorbikes carrying three men forced their way into the cathedral compound.

The footage shows their faces and number plates clearly visible as they entered in a coordinated manner. Police officers responded quickly and, by 9:44 AM, pushed them back along Valley Road, temporarily restoring order.
However, as they fled, the group turned on pedestrians, robbing them in broad daylight before dispersing.
Less than an hour later, at 10:11 AM, the attackers returned without motorcycles and stormed the cathedral on foot.
Inside the premises, CCTV shows them moving toward a conference area where a post-budget meeting was taking place, forcing organizers to suspend the event.
Outside the cathedral, a gunshot was fired to disperse the attackers. The police later regained control and pushed the group out of the compound.
