The widow of the late Mr. Weldon, who drew public attention after he was buried in an unfinished casket, has died just days before moving into a newly completed house built for her family through contributions from well-wishers, which were coordinated by a Kenyan preacher behind viral online charity work, Dan Wema.
In a statement on June 14, explained that the housing project was launched following Mr. Weldon’s death, with supporters raising funds to construct a permanent home for his family in Nakuru. The house had been completed and was scheduled for an official launch this week.
Further, according to information shared by Dan Wema, who was directly involved in the project, the widow had been staying in Bomet with relatives while receiving treatment for an illness. She died before she could relocate to the new home.
“At the time we were building a house for Mr. Weldon’s family in Nakuru, the same Mr. Weldon who was buried in an unfinished casket, his wife had fallen ill and was staying in Bomet with her mother. We were scheduled to officially launch the house this week, but unfortunately, Weldon’s wife has also passed away in Bomet,” he said in a statement.
What Next For the Newly Built Home
Despite the loss, Dan Wema said the family’s children are expected to move into the newly completed house, built with donations from well-wishers.
The home is to provide them a permanent place to live following the deaths of both parents.
