Police in Eldoret have arrested an officer attached to a Member of Parliament after he allegedly lost his firearm while drinking at Timba Xo.
Timba Xo in Eldoret is a popular club linked to Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi.
According to a police report, the officer, identified as Corporal Silas Kiptoo, went to the club on Friday night, September 5, 2025, in the company of two friends identified as Smith and Arap Ngetich.
However, at around 11:00 p.m., he discovered that his Beretta pistol, loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, was missing.
What happened at the Club?
The group of friends is said to have been drinking at the entertainment spot located in Sukunanga, about one kilometer from Sukunanga Police Station.
At around 11:00 p.m., Kiptoo realized that his Beretta pistol, which was loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, was missing.
The firearm was reported to have been in his possession when he entered the club.
After he noticed that the gun was missing, Kiptoo reported the matter to the police station.
Consequently, he was immediately arrested and placed in custody at Sukunanga Police Station as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the loss of the weapon began.

Police Confirm the Incident
Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi confirmed the arrest, explaining that efforts were underway to trace the firearm.
“The officer has been placed in custody at Sukunanga Police Station as investigations into the matter are underway,” the report stated.
Moreover, he added that the public’s cooperation will be key in the search.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kesses sub-county visited Timba Xo on Saturday, September 6, to review CCTV footage and interview witnesses.
The investigations revealed that the disappearance of the pistol caused panic among revellers and staff. The club is known for hosting large crowds and high-profile guests.
Mwanthi assured the public that security agencies were doing everything possible to recover the firearm.
“All efforts to trace the missing firearm are underway, and we urge members of the public with any information to assist the security agencies,” he said.
