Ghetto Radio was forced to cancel an interview with Mugithi singer Lawrence Wagura alias DJ Fatxo after uproar from fans.
In a statement, Ghetto radio confirmed the reason for cancelling the Dj’s interview was because fans did not approve of his being his audience.
“This was due to online uproar from our fans, who felt it was in bad taste. As an organization we value our customers and our listeners, you come first,” Ghetto radio statement read.
Furthermore, the radio station had scheduled the interview for 18 August at 7am-8am.
Moreover, Ghetto radio expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
After the station promoted the interview, fans reacted wildly after he found himself in the middle of a probe into the death of Jeff Mwathi who died while visiting his apartment under unclear circumstances.

Dj Fatxo is a Kikuyu secular artist, a singer, songwriter and a Disc Jockey. He hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons at a time when his career was thriving.
According to the police, a 23-year-old male died after falling from the tenth floor of Redwood Apartments in the Kasarani area, Nairobi. The initial report stated that Jeff committed suicide, but his family denied it.
Also, the homicide unit of the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) did not find evidence linking the Dj to the murder after investigations.
A section of Kenyans is yet to come to terms with the death of Jeff Mwathi with the hope that one day he will find justice.

The musician’s lawyer, Dancun Okach in May 2023, stated that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) had recommended formation of an inquest into the matter.
“We are acting for Mr Lawrence Njuguna, popularly known as DJ Fatxo; our client has been at the centre of extensive and thorough investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations since the unfortunate death of his friend, Jeff Mwathi,” Okach detailed in a letter.
