Flaqo Raz, born Erastus Ayieko Otieno on December 25, 1995, in Kisumu, Kenya, is a multi-talented comedian, director, producer, musician, and scriptwriter.
Best known for his humorous skits and Afro-fusion music style, Flaqo has established himself as one of Kenya’s most creative entertainers.
He is the firstborn in a family of three children, and his younger brother, Henry Newton, has also pursued a career in comedy.
His family recently made headlines, notably when his aunt, Nyakwar Janeko, a TikTok personality, accused him of neglecting his mother.
In response, Flaqo blocked his aunt on social media and stated that his mother was asking Janeko to stop speaking ill of him, asserting that he supports both his parents financially.
Education
Flaqo attended Xaverian Primary School in Kisumu County before joining St. Mary’s School, Yala, for his secondary education.
He later enrolled at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology in Bondo, where he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health, graduating in 2018.

Flaqo’s Career Journey
His comedy career took off in August 2018 after a video he made of his mother going to the grocery store went viral.
His big break came with the launch of his online skits under the popular series *Kwa Kina Otis*, where he masterfully plays multiple characters, including Mama Otis, Baba Otis, Otis, Akoth, and Bakari.
In March 2025, *Kwa Kina Otis* premiered on NTV Kenya, airing from Monday to Friday, marking his transition from online content to mainstream television.
Known for his celebrity impressions of stars like Willy Paul, Bien, and Khaligraph Jones, Flaqo has become a household name.
Over the years, he has collaborated with various celebrities, including Trisha Khalid, Sonnie Muthoni, Mama Ojo (Sam Spedy), Lil Shawrie, Azziad Nasenya, and King Kali, the Nigerian comedian behind the Yawa skits.
His success is attributed to consistency, creativity, and his ability to tap into relatable Kenyan experiences.
Beyond comedy, Flaqo is also a musician with a passion for R&B. He owns a music studio in Mambo Leo, Kisumu, called “Hitties”, where he and other artists record music.
His debut single, “Stress Mingi”, featuring Jimmy Cornrows and Fvrnace, was released in November 2019.
He has since dropped tracks such as “Njeri” with Jimmy Cornrows, “Regrets”, and “Shida ni Nyingi” featuring Jimmy Cornrows and Jon Larry.
Personal Life
Flaqo was previously in a four-year relationship with social media influencer Keranta Chege.
The couple parted ways in 2024, and their split attracted public attention when Flaqo repossessed a Nissan Note car he had gifted her on her 22nd birthday in 2023.

Awards
Flaqo’s work has earned him notable recognition in the digital space.
In 2020, he won two awards at the Africa Digital Influencer Awards (ADIA) for Influencer of the Year and Disruptor of the Year.
More recently, he was honored at the TikTok Awards Sub-Saharan Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he was named TikTok Content Creator of the Year (Sub-Saharan Africa).
