Kenyans will now have the chance to present their views on how Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) should be improved from Tuesday, November 1.
Moreover, the taskforce appointed by President William Ruto will visit all the forty-seven counties to collect views from the public and several stakeholders.
According to Prof. Munavu, parents play a significant role that must be understood; thus, this move provides an opportunity for them to be heard.
“Parents play a critical role in CBC but we must clearly understand the role. It must not be too expensive to parents, and you have an opportunity to come on board and tell us what you propose,” said Prof. Munavu.
Furthermore, the letter sent to all regional directors by the taskforce directs them to invite key stakeholders in the education sector including Governors, County commissioners and other administration officers, Representatives of Primary and Secondary school heads, Trade Unions and parents’ representatives, faith-based organizations among other stakeholders.
“In this regard, the taskforce has organized a county stakeholders’ engagement in all the 47 counties to seek views from the members of the public to inform terms of reference,” Prof. Munavu noted.
