KUCCPS Opens Portal for D Students; How to Apply

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened the application portal for the September 2024 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) intake.

In a statement issued on August 1, KUCCPS encouraged students to apply for placement in Artisan, Craft, and Diploma courses available at various public TVET institutions.

Additionally, KUCCPS said that this opportunity targets KCSE holders from 2000 to 2023 who have not yet applied for or secured a course.

“Do you wish to join a TVET institution this September? KUCCPS is now receiving applications for placement to Artisan, Craft and Diploma courses offered in public TVET institutions,” read the statement in part.

The placement body urged interested candidates to visit the portal so as to view available programs and their minimum requirements by logging in at students.kuccps.net.

Similarly, KUCCPS indicated that the application deadline was set for 20 days from August 1, 2024.

Courses Offered in the TVET Intake

The portal features a diverse array of courses, including:

  • Business & Related (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Building, Construction & Related (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Engineering Technology & Related (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Food Science & Related (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Nutrition & Dietetics (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Social Sciences (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Applied Sciences (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • IT & Related (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Hospitality, Hotel, Tourism & Related (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Clothing, Fashion & Textile (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Agricultural Sciences & Related (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Natural Sciences & Related (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Graphics, Media Studies, Media Production & Related (Minimum Grade Required: C-)
  • Technical Courses (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Tax & Custom Administration (Minimum Grade Required: C-)
  • Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Library & Information Sciences (Minimum Grade Required: D)
  • Education (Minimum Grade Required: D+)

How Apply in the KUCCPS Portal

To make an application, log in to the KUCCPS portal then click on the login tab and input your KCSE Index Number, KCSE year and Password in the provided slots.

Note that your password is your Birth Certificate Number or Your KCPE Index Number.

Once logged in, click on “All Programmes” and select the Certificate/Level 5 section to view the available courses and their minimum requirements.

Applicants will only be able to apply for courses where they meet minimum requirements. 

It is important to note that if a course is not listed on the portal, then it is likely not available for application or its slots were filled up during the previous applications.
