List of All KMTC Courses, Minimum KCSE Mean Grade and Subject Requirements

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has invited applications for Diploma and Certificate programmes offered at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) for the March 2025 intake.

In a statement dated Tuesday, January 28, KUCCPS called on KCSE holders who meet the minimum requirements to apply.

“Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) invites applications for Diploma and Certificate programmes offered at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) for the March 2025 intake. The application is open to all KCSE holders who meet the minimum requirements. Interested persons should log in to the KUCCPS Student Portal (students.kuccps.net) and apply,” read the statement.

Among the courses available is the Certificate in Community Health Assistant, which requires a minimum mean grade of C- in KCSE, with a D+ in English or Kiswahili, a D+ in Biology, and a D in Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.

List of Available KMTC Programmes offered by KUCCPS

This program is offered in various campuses, including Awendo, Embu, Isiolo, Nairobi, and Nyahururu, among others.

The Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology is another option for students with a C- mean grade. It requires a D+ in English or Kiswahili, a D in Biology, and a D in either Mathematics, Chemistry, or Physics. The program is available in campuses such as Bondo, Chwele, Nairobi, and Murang’a.

For those interested in nursing, the Certificate in Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing is available for applicants with a C- in KCSE, a C- in English or Kiswahili, a C- in Biology, and a D+ in Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics. This course is offered in campuses such as Bomet, Garissa, Kabarnet, and Kilifi.

Students aspiring to join emergency medical services can apply for the Certificate in Medical Emergency Technician, which requires a C- mean grade with at least a D in Biology. The program is available in institutions such as Bomet, Bungoma, Eldoret, and Kisumu.

The Certificate in Medical Engineering, open to students with a D+ mean grade, is also among the programs being offered. To qualify, applicants must have at least a D+ in English or Kiswahili, a D+ in Mathematics, and a D in either Biology, Physics, or Chemistry. The course is offered in Bomet, Eldoret, Kisumu, and Nairobi.

Other Certificate Courses available

Other certificate courses available include:

  • Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics (D+ mean grade, available in Chwele, Homa Bay, Karen-Nairobi, and Thika).
  • Certificate in Orthopedic Trauma Medicine (C- mean grade, available in Bungoma, Busia, Garissa, Kakamega, and Nyahururu).
  • Certificate in Public Health (C- mean grade, available in Embu, Kakamega, Nakuru, and Taveta).

Additionally, the Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery, which requires a C mean grade with at least a C in English or Kiswahili and Biology, and a C- in Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics, is being offered in Bondo, Eldoret, Kisii, Nyeri, and Thika.

KUCCPS emphasized that interested applicants should visit the KUCCPS Student Portal and submit their applications before the February 14, 2025 deadline.
