The United Kingdom (UK) has officially opened applications for the prestigious Chevening Scholarships, offering fully funded study opportunities to Kenyan scholars.
The Chevening Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity for individuals pursuing a master’s degree in the United Kingdom.
“Do you want to study at a leading UK university? Applications for fully funded master’s degrees through Chevening are now open! Start preparing your application now,” announced the UK Embassy in Kenya.
It is available for full-time, taught postgraduate programs offered at any accredited UK university.
Applicants can choose from a wide range of subjects, as long as the course aligns with the eligibility criteria.
The duration of the scholarship depends on the selected programme but typically covers one academic year.
Applications for the 2025/2026 cycle will close on October 7, 2025.
As Chevening Scholarships are fully funded, your award includes the following:
- University tuition fees
- A monthly stipend
- Travel costs to and from the UK
- An arrival allowance
- A homeward departure allowance
- The cost of one visa application
- A travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK
How to Apply for a UK Chevening Scholarship?
Follow the application steps below to submit your Chevening Scholarship application.
1. Choose your country from https://www.chevening.org/apply/, then choose the Chevening Scholarship. All Chevening applications must be submitted through the official online application system. During the application window, you can access the system by clicking the ‘Apply Today’ link on the application page specific to your home country or territory.
2. Create an account.
3. Fill your profile with your personal information, save the data and validate your profile, then start your application.
4. Complete the quiz to ensure your eligibility for the Scholarship.
5. Fill out the application with the required data and prepare the following documents:
- Completed education documents.
- English language qualification.
- Conditional offers for proposed courses of study (up to three).
- Unconditional offers for proposed courses of study (up to three) (You must upload at least one unconditional offer by July).
- References (If you are invited to interview, you will be invited to upload two references).
- Passport / ID document.
- Submit your application.

Eligibility and Criteria
Applicants must submit original responses written in their own words, as the use of AI software or any form of plagiarism in Chevening applications is strictly prohibited.
Applicants have been warned that Chevening employs advanced tools to detect fraud, plagiarism, and AI-generated content.
If you are not confident in your ability to craft a strong application independently, it is strongly advised to wait until you are better prepared before applying.
Submitting inauthentic or AI-assisted responses may lead to disqualification.
