Business Paralyzed in Kisumu as Residents Keep off CBD

Business operations have been paralyzed in the Lakeside city of Kisumu as most residents keep off the Central Business District (CBD) on a day that opposition supporters are set to hold anti-government demonstrations.

Most businesses remain shut with transporters also withdrawing their vehicles.

Security has been heightened in the city with police closing all roads leading to the State House within Milimani estate.

Major roads leading to the CBD have also been cordoned off even as a handful of opposition supporters gather to start the protest.

Elswhere in Nairobi, police have arrested several Azimio supporters who had gathered outside the Supreme court building ahead of the protest
