Dr. Barrack Muluka, a seasoned publishing editor, a Strategic & Political Communications, and Leadership Communications Consultant, is the current Secretary General of the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) Party.
He is also a writer on politics and a regular commentator on social and public affairs on the global platform.

Educational Background of Barrack Muluka
He is a graduate of the University of Leicester, with a PhD in Politics and International Relations, as well as a graduate of the University of Nairobi, with a Master of Arts qualifications in Armed Conflict & Peace Studies, Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Linguistics and English.
Muluka also has a Certificate in Radio Production from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication, Certificate in Finance for the Non-Finance Manager from the Kenya Institute of Management and a Diploma in French from the French Cultural Centre, Nairobi.
Career information
Barrack has undertaken key strategic communications consultancies under the aegis of the European Union, the United Nations, the World Bank, the Government of Kenya, the University of Nairobi, the Kenya Institute of Management, the Ford Foundation and the National Democratic Institute, among many other assignments.
These include Lead Consultant in Strategic & Political Communications, Midas Touch Media Limited, Public Communications Advisor to the Council of Governors and Strategic Communications Trainer for Africa Woman & Child Feature Services.
Muluka has also worked at the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) as Chief Advisor for Africa Governance, Leadership & Management Convention Secretariat, and Principal Adviser on Partnerships, Liaisons and Public Communications.
The communications consultant has been a KIM member since 2001.
He was also the Chairman of Mvule Africa Publishers between March 2005 and June 2016.
Barrack has also consulted for various Presidential candidates in Kenya, and the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary.
Currently, the PhD holder is a member of the African Council of Communication Education and Africa Publishing Institute (as trainer in publishing).
Family life
Muluka married Dorothy Nafula Makokha in 1983 and together they are blessed with two children.
