The International Leadership University (ILU) exists, is a network of accredited universities, colleges, schools, and ministries in Africa. ILU operates the Nairobi International School of Theology (NIST, Kenya).
NIST was established in 1981 by Campus Crusade for Christ International (now known as Life Ministry Kenya).
It started by offering graduate-level theological education and admitted its first cohort in August 1981.
There were five full-time master’s students, and the first class graduated in June 1983.
NIST main campus is situated on Mtito Andei Road in Kilimani, Nairobi, approximately 5 kilometres from Nairobi CBD.
The University has three schools offering various courses.
NIST specialises in Theology and Christian Ministry courses from certificate to PhD level.
Students applying through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) can go for a Bachelor of Theology, Diploma in Missions, Diploma in Children’s Ministry or Diploma in Theology.
However, NIST also offers a PhD in Theology, a Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Biblical & Theological Studies.
It also offers Certificates in Children’s Ministry, Missions and Theology.

School of Leadership and Governance
The school offers a PhD in Leadership, a Master of Arts in Leadership Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Leadership & Management.
Students can also pursue a Diploma in Leadership, a Diploma in Servant Leadership and a Certificate in Leadership.
School of Education and Social Sciences
Here, students can pursue a Master of Arts in Counselling Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Counselling Psychology or a diploma in counselling.
They can also study for a Diploma in Education Arts and a Certificate in Counselling.

International Leadership University Fee Structure
ILU’s yearly fee for a bachelor’s degree program is Ksh137,600.
The first semester fee is Ksh70,300 while the second semester fee is Ksh67,300.
Diploma students pay Ksh86,100 per year while certificates cost Ksh70,100.
Besides, master’s programs cost Ksh218,400 yearly.
PhD in leadership costs a total of Ksh1.2 million theology studies fee is Ksh1.3 million.
ILU’s network comprises other institutions, including the African Centre for Theological Studies (ACTS, Nigeria), Africa Leadership and Management Academy (ALMA-in Ghana and Zimbabwe), ILU-Burundi and Institut Facultaire De Théologie Appliquée (IFTA, Congo).
