Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) anchor and reporter, Zainab Said has left the station after a two-year stint.
Said announced her departure on Thursday, November 3 through her LinkedIn, reflecting on her journey at KBC.
“During that time, I have gained and lost knowledge, but most significantly, I have developed as a reporter, anchor, and show host,” she stated.
Zainab’s joined the Kijabe Street-based broadcaster in November 2021 as a news reporter and anchor.
Besides reporting and anchoring, Zainab was also a show host in charge of “Tamrini” and “Kurunzi Mashinani” programs.
In addition, the latter, “Kurunzi Mashinani,” is a county edition show that delves into the heart of local stories from around the counties, connecting communities and bringing tales to life.
A chance like no other
Zainab Said didn’t miss the opportunity to express her heartfelt gratitude to KBC’s management for affording her the chance to flourish in her career.

“I will always be appreciative to the management of the national broadcaster for giving me this chance, as well as to everyone else who helped me along the way.
I am closing a chapter at this station with gratitude,” she added, overflowing with appreciation.
Prior to her tenure at the national broadcaster, Said left an indelible mark during her stint as a news reporter and anchor at Mediamax, where she graced the airwaves of Milele FM.
Her magnetic charisma and storytelling prowess endeared her to listeners and viewers alike.
In a momentous step that highlighted her undeniable talent, Zainab debuted her first bulletin, “K24 TV Mashinani,” on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, solidifying her presence in the media landscape.
Zainab’s career
Zainab Said’s illustrious career traces its roots back to her days at Qwetu Radio, where she worked as a volunteer and intern to hone her journalistic skills.
Furthermore, this was just the beginning of her journey, as she soon joined Iqra FM in September 2017, serving as a dedicated news reporter until July 2018.
Her passion for storytelling became the guiding force propelling her towards Mediamax, the company that owns among others, Milele FM, K24TV and People Daily.
At Milele FM, Said wore multiple hats as both an anchor and reporter, with her focus squarely on the human-interest stories that captivated hearts and minds.
Notably, Zainab Said is an alumnus of the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC), based in Nairobi’s South B.

Currently, she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Communication (Electronic Media) at Daystar University. It is not clear if Zainab is joining another media house after she left her fans guessing.
