A Kenyan-born and raised pastor has found success in the United States (US) by successfully blending both faith and entrepreneurship.
Archbishop Dr Stephen Njenga has provided leadership and job opportunities for Africans in Seattle, extending his influence beyond the pulpit. He owns 13 companies, including a television station.
Speaking during an interview with Chams Media’s Daring Abroad, Njenga explained that his vision is to impact the lives of others positively and offer them a second chance at life.
The Kariti Secondary School, Murang’a County, alumnus has lived in the US for over 12 years and is determined to never stay comfortable, adding that one has to create their own America when they get there.
He revealed that among his companies are a media company, a supermarket, a branding business, and others.
“I now have about 13 companies, and I just launched the latest one called Integrity Bible Seminary. We have been approved by Washington Achievement Council to train biblical studies and Christian canceling from certificate to doctorate,” he stated.

Companies Owned by Kenyan Pastor Stephen Njenga
Aside from the pastoral enterprise, Njenga trains health professionals from various African countries. A business he has been running for over 8 years.
His facility provides accommodation, food, and training to the individuals, and later matches them with potential employers within the US.
“The second business I do is to train health professionals through the Home Aide Training Centre. I have run this business for 8 years.
“I have expanded it and now I have airport pickup and accommodation for two weeks during the training period. Then I connect the students I train to employers,” he explained.
Additionally, he opened a new company in April 2024, that offers driving lessons to both adults and teenagers in the United States.
“The third company, which I opened in April 2024, is Experts Driving School, where we train adults in driving skills. We also have teens training classes,” added Njenga.
Aside from that, he offers financial services for individuals in the diaspora, including back home in Kenya, to set up bank accounts.
“I am certified to officiate marriages, both in the civil and religious way and also a cooperative bank diaspora agent; I am a Kingdom bank diaspora agent. That means that if you want to open a diaspora account if you walk into our offices, we are able to facilitate that process.”
Also, the man of the cloth owns One Word TV and Radio station, which airs Christian programs in the US and abroad.
“We host Christian programs every day and we also have a radio one-word champion that runs 24/7, so we have a lot of activities and have touched a lot of lives in Seattle and across the board.”

The individuals who have benefited from the Home Aide Training Centre are drawn from different African countries including Kenya, South Africa, and Botswana, among others.
Jane, for instance, is a Kenyan who went to the US to visit her sister and decided to take advantage of the opportunity at the center.
“I came here to visit my sister and I was informed that there was this school. It has helped me develop so many skills,” she said.
Johnson, a Namibian lauded Njenga, saying that the training was good and the program well organized.
“I was living in Botswana, and I heard about this training center. It is well organized and when I arrived, I was picked up from the airport and brought to the house where we are accommodated.”
