Former The Situation Room host Eric Latiff has left Spice FM after a five-year tenure at Standard Group PLC. He joined Nation Media Group (NMG) on January 6, 2025, shortly after announcing his departure from Standard Group. Following his departure, KTN News anchor Dennis Aseto stepped in to fill the role on an acting basis.
Aseto is an experienced journalist with a strong background in media production and a proven record in breaking news coverage, journalism, media relations, radio broadcasting, and corporate communications.
He serves as a news anchor for KTN News and is also a news presenter for Vybz Radio and Spice FM, as well as a news producer for Standard Group PLC.
Throughout his career, Aseto has advanced through various roles while maintaining his focus on journalism.
Aseto journalism career
He began his journey as a radio presenter at ENC Radio in August 2008, where he worked until August 2009.
He then joined Royal Media Services as a Radio Producer in September 2009, remaining there until February 2010.

After leaving Royal Media Services, Aseto took on the role of Breakfast News Anchor and Head of News at Homeboyz Radio from October 2015 to May 2021.
He would later join One FM as Head of News, where he oversaw the News Desk and content dissemination from July 2019 to May 2021. In May 2021, Aseto joined Standard Media Group PLC, where he continues to work.

In addition to his role at Standard Media, Aseto runs a podcast called “Convos With Toll,” which he founded in March 2019.
Other activities Dennis is involved in besides his work at Standard Group
The podcast features discussions on current events and addresses issues that often go unnoticed.
He also provides voice-over work for commercials and serves as an emcee at corporate events.

Aseto also runs a blog called asetoll.com where he writes on issues affecting the common man.
One of Aseto’s notable achievements includes covering the 2013 and 2017 elections, and the International Criminal Court (ICC) case against six Kenyans.
Aseto is an alumnus of the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication, where he studied journalism.
