The International Health Operations Patient Education Empowerment (IHOPEE) is a global non-governmental organization delivering change and touching lives.

In the heart of Kenya, an extraordinary tale unfolds.

A passionate group of individuals, driven by a shared vision all the way from the United States, converged to script an incredible transformation.

As the pages of this narrative turn, we are drawn into a world where unwavering dedication illuminates the path toward a healthier and more empowered future for humanity.

Moreover, IHOPEE, doesn’t just deliver change but also paints a vivid canvas of compassion, humanitarianism, and psychosocial support.

What sets the remarkable NGO apart? Its approach is holistic – healing not only physical wounds but nurturing the minds and spirits of those it touches.

Where it all began

Delving into the origins of this riveting journey, the remarkable story of Rose Oginga, the founder and engine of IHOPEE, unfolds.

With a heart filled with compassion, Rose embarked on a mission to make a difference – a mission that defies convention and resonates with all who hear it.

IHOPEE’s story unfurls in the most serendipitous of ways – Rose’s chance encounter on Facebook in 2014 with eight like-minded souls who realized the pressing need for school uniforms and books for students in Kenya.

Furthermore, this was not just a story of kind-heartedness as it was a testament to the power of human connection.

Their initial act of kindness involved shipping over 10,000 books to more than twenty-seven schools in Kenya.

It was a humble beginning, but the fire of passion burned bright. However, the path ahead was never smooth.

Shipping books to Kenya from the USA was a costly endeavor. Unshaken, Rose’s determination was unbreakable.

She was keen on setting out to make change and more even, determined to be the change. Her journey is a testament to the indomitable spirit that drives transformation.

IHOPEE Founder – Rose Oginga

Rose Oginga, a remarkable individual, and a true beacon of hope, leads IHOPEE.

Her story is about both accomplishments, the essence of determination and the potential of the human spirit.

Born and raised in Kenya, Rose, currently residing in Florida, United States, is a mother of four, a philanthropist, nurse, and an educator.

Her passion for empowering youth and women resonates through her life’s work. Moreover, hers isn’t just a story of one woman but a narrative of resilience, compassion, and the enduring spirit of giving back.

Notably, she is also a missional mindset coach, mentor, and author of two books: one addressing bullying and the other focusing on financial planning.

Rose’s achievements are a testament to the power of knowledge and the spark of inspiration that fuels progress.

In June 2019, Rose and her team were recognized for their dedication and remarkable commitment.

The actions were about the power of collective action and the ripple effect of transformation.

Through her organization, she empowers individuals to thrive academically and economically, offering them the keys to unlock their full potential.

Mission and Vision

IHOPEE’s mission is elegantly simple yet profoundly transformative: Empower youth and women in the USA and Kenya through international health operations, patient education, and economic empowerment.

“What all our young people need are opportunities, and this organization has tirelessly worked in collaboration to provide just that.”

The organization’s overarching aim is to enhance the quality of life for young people by providing access to healthcare services, fostering education and awareness, and creating economic opportunities for sustainable growth.

Their vision on the other hand, is nothing short of remarkable – a world where youth and women, regardless of their background, have equal opportunities to lead healthy lives, access quality healthcare, receive comprehensive education, and achieve economic empowerment.

In Rose’s words, “It’s my anticipation that our legacy, which we intend to bring forth, will promote wellness, unlock full potential, and work together for a brighter future, as we make a profound difference.”

This isn’t just a vision but also a shared dream, and a collective aspiration to rewrite the narrative of empowerment and equality.

Impact

The impact of the organization resonates everywhere.

Over 10,000 women and girls have been touched by their efforts, with more than 50,000 menstrual products distributed, and countless lives transformed.

In 2014, over two hundred deserving children received school uniforms through volunteers.

In the same year, about 10,000 children benefited from the “Equip a library project,” an initiative advocating literacy in rural village schools.

Moreover, IHOPEE’s impact on vulnerable residents has been nothing short of remarkable.

Through medical outreach and food distribution programs, they’ve made a tangible difference in different Kenyan counties.

Just to name a few, IHOPEE’s impact record has not been about outreach, but it has been a lifeline for those in need.

Challenges

Rose’s passionate plea to Kenyan county governments to offer support comes from the depths of her heart.

A call to action and an appeal for a brighter future.

She envisions working office spaces and expertise that would enable IHOPEE to make an even greater difference.

“My hope is that we will be able to get those in charge of the devolution areas to grant IHOPEE training spaces where we can train individuals in IT programs,” she pleads.

5th IHOPEE Safari Summit Gala

The 5th IHOPEE Safari Summit Gala, set to be held on Saturday, October 28, at 120 Ezra Rust Drive, Saginaw, Michigan, promises to be an event that will be etched in memory.

The theme, “Redefining Heroes Who Make a Difference in the World,” is a testament to the organization’s core values, celebrating heroes, unsung and unyielding.

It’s a celebration of the over two hundred unsung heroes working tirelessly on the ground in Kenya, recognizing the dedication that deserves the spotlight.

Their seamless collaboration with a small but mighty team in the USA paints a clear picture of who the heroes truly are.
