Roselinda Soipan Tuya is a Kenyan politician who served as the Cabinet secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry.
She was the first Maasai woman to become a CS when she was appointed in October 2022.
However, she was dismissed from the position alongside other Cabinet Members. Soipan has now been nominated by President William Ruto, to become the Defence Cabinet Secretary.

Education and Career of Soipan Tuya
Soipan Tuya is the fourth daughter out of 15 siblings of former Narok South Member of Parliament Samson Ole Tuya.
Soipan is a United States (US) trained lawyer with over 18 years’ experience in the practice. She holds a masters degree in law from Washington University.
She attended the Kenya High School for her high school education and joined the University of Nairobi for her law degree.
Before joining active politics, she worked for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as land law and gender adviser.
Further, between 2006 and 2008, she had a stint in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs as a legal officer.
Later, she secured a job at Kituo Cha Sheria, an NGO that represents the poor and under privileged, as the acting executive director, legal aid and education coordinator.
The CS joined elective and competitive politics in 2012 and went on to win the Narok Woman Representative seat in 2013. She served as the women’s representative for Narok county between 2013 and 2022.

Wealth and Assets
During her vetting before assuming her CS position, Soipan told members of parliament that she was worth Ksh156 million.
Further, she explained that her wealth was majorly made up of immovable assets like land and buildings.
In addition, she has savings in the credit society of Parliament.
“I have three homes, one in Nairobi, Narok and my village and vehicles. I have apartments in Narok and one in Nairobi. Two plots of land in Kitengela and also a dairy business,” Tuya told the MPs.
