The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has published the lending and deposit rates for commercial banks for April 2025.
In a notice on June 3, CBK stated that the overall average lending rate was 15.65, while the deposit rate was 8.87.
Citibank N.A Kenya had the lowest lending rate at 10.82, followed by Stanbic Bank Kenya Limited with 12.92.
Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Limited’s rate was 13.50 while Ecobank Kenya Limited and Guardian Bank Limited rates stood at 13.59.
The Consolidated Bank of Kenya Limited had a lending rate of 13.60.
Next on the list are Paramount Bank Limited (14.62), Kingdom Bank Limited (14.77) and Equity Bank Kenya Limited (14.91).
The following banks had an interest rate of between 15 and 16 percent include Premier Bank Kenya Limited (15.06), Gulf African Bank Limited (15.16) and Habib Bank A.G Zurich (15.26).
Others are Bank of Baroda (Kenya) Limited (15.41), Bank of India (15.44), Guaranty Trust Bank (K) Ltd (15.50), Victoria Commercial Bank PLC (15.66)
NCBA Bank Kenya PLC and National Bank of Kenya Limited had a lending rate of 15.74, while Diamond Trust Bank Kenya Limited rate stood at 15.97.
Additionally, Co-operative Bank of Kenya Limited and KCB Bank Kenya Limited rates were 16.09.
This is followed closely by Development Bank of Kenya Limited with 16.12, ABSA Bank Kenya PLC with 16.34 and Prime Bank Limited with 16.40.
Family Bank Limited had a rate of 16.41, and M-Oriental Bank Limited had 16.75.
DIB Bank Kenya Limited and UBA Kenya Bank Limited had 17.10 and 17.11, respectively.
African Banking Corporation Limited lending rate was 17.31, followed by I&M Bank Limited (17.36) and Sidian Bank Limited (17.72).

Banks with Highest Rates
Bank of Africa Kenya Limited, SBM Bank Kenya Limited and HFC Limited are among the banks with lending rates above 18.
The banks rates were 18.02, 18.17 and 18.99, respectively.
Credit Bank PLC rate was 19.45, followed by Access Bank (Kenya) PLC at 19.77.
The Commercial International Bank (CIB) Kenya Limited rates were 20.22.
Middle East Bank (K) Limited had the highest lending rates with 20.49.

CBK Deposit Rates
Premier Bank Kenya Limited had the lowest deposit rate of 2.67, followed by Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Limited with 3.19.
Credit Bank PLC had the highest rate at 13.60.
Other banks with high rates include African Banking Corporation Limited (12.89), Kingdom Bank Limited (11.46), Development Bank of Kenya (11.22) and Prime Bank Kenya (11.00).
