Politicians and 6 NGO Suspected of hiring Goons
The news comes even as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continues its investigations into 6 NGOs suspected of hiring goons and transporting them to disrupt protests.
The directorate is also investigating six politicians: three from Nairobi, two from Central Kenya, and one from the Rift Valley and a businessman.
The suspects are believed to have been mobilizing youths from various slums, providing them with cash handouts and instructions to incite violence during the protests. The hired goons were tasked with infiltrating the peaceful demonstrations and turning them into chaotic and violent events.
Additionally, they are accused of providing other forms of support, such as transport to and from the demonstrations.
Earlier on July 2, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) published photos of individuals wanted for their involvement in unlawful activities during the protests.

Ford Foundation implicated by Ruto
However, President William Ruto accused American NGO Ford Foundation of financing the recent anti-government protests in Kenya.
Ruto while addressing Kenyans in Nakuru County talked tough reiterating the need for peace in Kenya and proceeded to claim that some parties were huge beneficiaries of the protests in Kenya.
However, the organization responded saying that its grantmaking is transparent and information about the specific initiatives is available on its official website.
Later on, on July 21, Ruto challenged alleged sponsors behind anti-government protests to come clean, reveal their identities and table their development plans for the country.
“I want to challenge those who are sponsoring orchestrating and funding this violence and give us their alternative views on our to take Kenya forward. They must not remain, anonymous, formless or faceless. They must step forward and tell us beyond anarchy and destruction what are their alternative plans for Kenya,” Ruto said.
