The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has released the weather forecast for the period between July 26 and July 30, 2025.
In its latest forecast published on Friday, July 25, 2025, the weatherman has listed areas expected to receive rainfall.
According to Kenya Met, rainfall is expected over a few parts of the country mainly in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley.
The forecast further shows that there will be sunny intervals during the mornings, except for July 28, when there are chances of showers in a few places.
Regions Expected to Receive Rainfall
Counties in these regions will experience showers and thunderstorms in a few places during the afternoons throughout this period.
These regions will experience showers at night during the forecast period, except on Saturday, July 26, and Wednesday, July 30, when Kenya Met predicts partly cloudy weather.
Counties in these regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot.
Occasional cold and cloudy conditions are likely to be experienced over some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the Rift Valley.

In addition, strong southerly to south-easterly winds with speeds exceeding 25 knots (12.86 m/s) are expected over the Coast (and Kenya’s territorial waters), the South-eastern lowlands, North-eastern and North-western Kenya.
Turkana and Samburu counties will experience sunny intervals in the morning during the forecast period, except on July 27 and July 28, when the Kenya Meteorological Department predicts rain over a few areas.
Sunny intervals are expected throughout the afternoon, while nights will remain partly cloudy during the entire forecast period.
Forecast for Nairobi and its Environs
The Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi County, will experience cloudy mornings over a few places, giving way to sunny intervals.
There will be sunny intervals during the afternoons throughout the forecast period, except on July 27 and July 28, when it will be cloudy, breaking into sunny intervals.
The nights will be partly cloudy.

This region includes Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka-Nithi counties.
Weatherman predicts sunny intervals throughout the day and partly cloudy nights throughout the period.
Counties in this region include Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo.
South-Eastern Lowlands
Areas within this region include Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, and Taita-Taveta counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana-River County.
Kenya Met predicts cloudy mornings breaking into sunny weather during the mornings.
There will be sunny intervals in the afternoons with partly cloudy nights.
Coast
In the coastal region—which includes the counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, and the coastal parts of Tana River County—there will be a chance of morning showers throughout the forecast period, except on July 28 and July 30. In the afternoons, areas within this region are expected to experience sunny intervals.
Nights will generally be partly cloudy during the forecast period, except on July 29 and July 30, when a chance of showers is expected over a few places within these counties.
