Popular radio fan Rozy Liyala alias Rosy wa Turbo, has passed away.
According to reports, Rossy wa Turbo died on Saturday, July 6, 2024, after a long battle with illness.
At the time of her passing, Rosy wa Turbo was the treasurer of Radio Mashabiki Sacco and a primary school teacher.
A closed family relative Balozi Eric Meja confirmed her passing in a statement.
“Some truths are hard to accept. Your memories will never be forgotten…my condolences messages bring comfort and my prayers. Rest in Peace my beloved cousin madam Rozy Liyala aka Lady Tosha Rozy Wa Turbo,” he said.
“No more pain now, you have fought a good fight. I will miss u forever my best friend and a sister. I will always keep to your advice, and I know one day one time death will also die a very painful death.”

Radio fans described Rosy as a dedicated supporter of Milele FM and Radio Citizen FM who loved passing greetings to her fellow fans.
Rosy wa Turbo Mourned by Radio Fans
Radio Presenter Jeridah Andayi during her Pambazuka show mourned Rosy as a great fan of Radio Citizen who shall be missed by many.

“What a sad evening. We have lost a fan of Milele FM, Rosy wa Turbo. Rest in peace, our cherished treasurer of Radio Mashabiki SACCO. The pain is overwhelming,” posted Mzee Chunguli Mwenyewe, a radio fan said.
Many radio enthusiasts mourned Rosy as a devoted fan of Kenyan radio stations, admired for her contributions to the industry.
“We’ve just lost one of our Milele FM fans, Rosy wa Turbo. It’s such a big loss to the entire radio fraternity. Rest easy, Rosy wa Turbo. We will see you again someday,” wrote Andrew wa Kangemi.
Another radio fan Darius Kipkosgei said he had been listening to Rossy’s contribution on the radio for a long time now.

“Personally, I have listened to her a lot since back in the days on Radio Citizen FM and Milele FM. Rest in peace, our fellow radio fan,” he said.
Iddah Mudasia mourned Rosy as the one who introduced her to Mashabiki Sacco and always called her dada mdogo (small sister). “You’ve left a legacy, mamaah. Rest easy,” she wrote.
Another Facebook user Mzalendo Rapahel Mokaya described Rosy as a vital leader known for her social media prowess and radio presence with the “Mashabiki Group.”
“We deeply mourn the untimely passing of Rozy Liyala (aka LadyTosha Mama Rozy wa Turbo). Kenya will remember her as a dedicated public figure who was resilient, benevolent and patriotic to her country. Our heartfelt condolences to her family,” he said.
Radio fans never passed a greeting on the radio without mentioning Rosy, and her voice was always present in the radio shows.
