The Social Health Authority (SHA) has extended the deadline for healthcare facilities to transition from its provider portal to approved Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) by one month, giving hospitals until November 30, 2026, to complete the process.
In a joint notice issued on Friday, October 30, SHA and the Digital Health Agency (DHA) said the extension followed requests from healthcare providers who had not completed the migration.
The two agencies said the additional time would allow the remaining facilities to finalise the transition and avoid interruptions the service processing under the national health insurance scheme.
“The deadline to transition from the SHA Provider Portal to approved Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) has been extended to 30 November 2026,” the notice stated.
SHA and DHA further announced that access to the existing provider portal would be deactivated effective November 30, 2026.
Healthcare facilities that fail to migrate before the deadline risk losing access to the platform, which could affect service verification, pre-authorisation and claims submission and processing.
“Healthcare providers are advised to treat this as the final transition deadline and take the necessary steps to ensure compliance,” the agencies said.
SHA Releases Hospital Migration Figures
The extension comes as the agencies report progress in the transition, although some categories of healthcare facilities are yet to complete the migration.
According to the latest figures, all 6,427 public Level 2–4 facilities have successfully moved to approved HMIS platforms, representing 100 per cent completion.
However, only 22 out of 28 public Level 5 facilities have completed the process, representing 79 per cent.
Faith-based organisation facilities recorded the lowest transition rate, with 190 out of 518 facilities having migrated, equivalent to 37 per cent.
The agencies also reported that 371 private facilities had successfully transitioned.
SHA and DHA acknowledged the efforts made by healthcare providers, saying the progress recorded over the past month had informed the decision to extend the deadline.
“SHA and DHA appreciate the commitment, cooperation, and continued efforts demonstrated by healthcare providers throughout this transition,” the notice stated.

What Happens to Hospitals That Miss the Deadline?
Facilities that fail to complete the migration by November 30 risk being locked out of the SHA Provider Portal.
The agencies warned that the deactivation could disrupt the verification of medical services, pre-authorisation requests and the submission and processing of claims.
Such interruptions could affect how quickly healthcare providers deliver services to beneficiaries under SHA.
However, SHA and DHA clarified that claims already submitted through the existing portal would continue to be processed in line with applicable requirements.
“Healthcare providers are further assured that claims already submitted through the SHA Provider Portal will continue to be processed in accordance with the applicable requirements,” the notice stated.

The Digital Health Agency said it would continue supporting facilities that were yet to complete the migration.

DHA will also coordinate with HMIS vendors to address outstanding implementation issues.
Facilities experiencing difficulties have been advised to seek assistance through the agency’s helpdesk.
Healthcare providers can contact DHA through [email protected] or its toll-free support line, 147.
Those seeking assistance have been asked to provide their facility names, contact persons’ details and a brief explanation of the challenges they are experiencing.
