WPP Scangroup board has announced the resignation of Claudelle Naidoo from her role as Non-Executive Director, effective 21st November 2025.
In an announcement on November 21, WPP stated that Naidoo is leaving her position following her transition from an executive role at WPP Media.
“The Board of WPP Scangroup Pic hereby announces the resignation of Ms. Claudelle Naidoo from her role as Non-Executive Director effective 21st November 2025,” read part of the announcement.
The Board expressed sincere gratitude for her contributions and extended best wishes for her future endeavors.
Her resignation comes barely 30 day after she was appointed as a Non-Executive Director on August 22, 2025.
Claudelle Naidoo Career Background
On August 22, she was appointed as a Non-Executive Director at WPP Scangroup.
Claudelle Naidoo is currently the Chief Executive Officer of WPP Media for Sub-Saharan Africa, a position she has held since August 2024.
Prior to this, she served as Chief Executive Officer of Essence Mediacom South Africa from August 2022 to July 2024.
She has worked as the Managing Director at MediaCom from May 2019 to August 2022 and also served as Head of Analytics & Insights and New Business Director at MediaCom from August 2015 to April 2019.
From January 2010 to July 2015, Naidoo was Head of MI (Analytics, Research, Insights) at Kagiso Media, overseeing research and insights across radio, TV, online channels, events, and production companies throughout Africa.
Claudelle worked in Analytics & Insights at Nielsens from January 2007 to January 2010.
Earlier in her career, she was a journalist at 1485 in Johannesburg, South Africa, from February 2002 to January 2005.

Education Background
Claudelle Naidoo earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) between January 2015 and December 2017.
She studied Communication and Media Studies at the AAA School of Advertising from 2008 to 2010.
Naidoo also completed courses in Marketing/Marketing Management, Copywriting, and Media Management at the AAA School of Advertising.
Additionally, she studied Journalism and Business Communication at Damelin.

WPP Leadership Changes
The company has undergone several leadership changes since its inception.
The most notable was when founder Bharat Thakrar resigned as Chief Executive Officer and board member of WPP Scangroup.
This followed after his suspension, together with former Chief Financial Officer Satyabrata Das, over alleged gross misconduct. On October 21, 2025, WPP Scangroup appointed Akua Brayie Owusu-Nartey as Group CEO.
The company has also rebranded, changing its name from Scangroup Limited to WPP Scangroup Limited.
Originally founded in 1982 as a small independent advertising agency called SCANAD, the company gradually expanded its services to include media planning and buying, public relations, market research, experiential marketing, and digital solutions.
In 2005, Scangroup was formally structured as a corporate entity to consolidate its diverse operations and was subsequently listed on the NSE in 2006.
