Abass Sheikh Mohamed, born in 1958 in Wajir, is a Kenyan politician currently serving as the senator for Wajir County.
He was elected to the Senate in 2022 on the United Democratic Movement (UDM) ticket.
Before becoming a senator, he served as a Member of Parliament for Wajir East Constituency in the 11th Parliament after being elected in 2013 on the United Republican Party (URP) ticket with Jubilee Coalition support.
He lost re-election in 2017 but made a comeback in 2022 to secure the Senate seat.

Abass Sheikh Mohamed began his formal education at Wajir Primary School, followed by Mandera High School.

He furthered his academic credentials with a Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Local Economic Development and an MBA in Strategic Marketing from Erasmus University in the Netherlands.

Abass Sheikh Mohamed built a strong career in agricultural finance and livestock marketing.
He began as Branch Manager at the Agricultural Finance Office (1991–1999), then served as Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Livestock Marketing Council (2002–2012).

Later, he transitioned to the private sector as Managing Director of Red Sea Co. Ltd (2018–2022)

In the 2022 general election, representing the United Democratic Movement (UDM), he was elected Senator for Wajir County, defeating his challenger with 36,201 votes to 33,580.
