Govt Announces Foreign Jobs with Ksh140K Salary; How to Apply

The openings were announced in a notice by State Department of Labor and Skills Development Principal Secretary Shadrack Mwadime.

The government has announced a recruitment drive targeting Kenyan healthcare workers for employment opportunities in government hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

While announcing the job openings for specialist nurses, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection in a notice on Tuesday, July 30,2024, noted that the positions available are only open for interested and qualified Kenyans.

“The State Department for Labour and Skills Development is pleased to announce a second recruitment drive for specialist nurses for employment in the government hospitals in the KSA. Interested and qualified Kenyans are invited to apply for the positions based on the criteria below,” reads the notice in parts.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection mentioned that the continued collaboration between Kenya and Saudi Arabia aims to improve safe labor migration and create opportunities for Kenyan workers.

Further, the notice indicated that interested and qualified individuals ought to be strictly female Kenyan citizens less than 45 years old, who should be medically fit.

Qualifications For Saudi Arabia Nursing Jobs

The applicants should be holders of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing/Diploma of Nursing-Midwifery European Union (min 3 years post-secondary school).

Additionally, an applicant should be registered and licensed member of the Nursing Council of Kenya, and in good standing.

Also, the Ministry indicated that interested persons must be in be in possession of a valid Police Clearance Certificate and Kenyan passport.

Under work experience, the applicant should be experienced in handling patient care in hospital-based care which include inpatient, ER, or ICU.

In addition, applicants need to be proficient in writing and speaking English as well as be medically fit.

“Must have a valid Prometric Results; If not, the same can be taken either in Kenya OR KSA (Prometric test cost to be deducted from the employee’s salary in 3 instalments.”

“Dataflow verification report for the education certificate and Nursing Council License or latest employment certificate is mandatory,” added the notice.

Terms Of Employment

At the same time, the government indicated that the jobs would be under a 1-year renewable contract in different institutions.

Successful applicants are set to receive a minimum salary of 4,110.00 SAR (Ksh142,966) basic salary per month, plus an additional 295 SAR (Ksh10,182) for each year of experience.

The successful applicants will be working for eight hours every day and will be issued with a Paid Annual vacation with free round trip economy ticket. Overtime benefits will be remunerated in accordance with the Saudi Arabia Labour Laws.

The ministry of Labor and Social Protection advised interested candidates to sign-up/register and apply for consideration through attached links.

These include the Ministry of Health of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Recruitment Platform and the National Employment Authority Job Portal

According to the notice by State Department of Labor and Skills Development Principal Secretary Shadrack Mwadime, candidates must apply through both links.
