The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has declared 101 vacancies, offering a salary of up to Ksh 344,688 per month, and is inviting applications from qualified and interested candidates.
In a notice on March 26, the advertised positions include one Law Clerk, 15 Senior Legal Researchers, and 78 Legal Researchers.
The commission, as per the notice, indicated that all applications must be submitted by April 15, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., and that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
“All applications should reach the Commission NOT LATER THAN 15th APRIL 2026 AT 5.00 P.M.Only shortlisted and successful candidates will be contacted,” the notice read.
JSC Invites Applications for 101 Law Clerks and Legal Researchers Positions
According to the JSC notice, the positions include one Law Clerk post, 15 Senior Legal Researcher roles, and 85 Legal Researcher positions.

Qualifications for the 85 Legal Researcher Posts
The Judicial Service Commission has invited applications for 85 Legal Researcher positions under a five-year renewable contract, subject to satisfactory performance.
The positions offer a monthly gross salary ranging from KSh 189,534 to KSh 232,164. Legal Researchers will conduct legal research to support judges and judicial officers and will report directly to a designated judge or judicial officer.
Deployment for the role will be to any of the Superior Courts or Magistrates’ Courts across the Republic of Kenya.
Applicants must be advocates of the High Court of Kenya with at least one year of post-admission experience.
15 Senior Legal Researchers
The commission has also invited applications for 15 Senior Legal Researcher positions under a five-year renewable contract, subject to satisfactory performance.
The positions offer a monthly gross salary ranging from KSh 212,141 to KSh 325,753. Senior Legal Researchers will conduct legal research to support judges at the Court of Appeal and will report directly to a designated judge of the Court of Appeal.
Successful candidates will be deployed to the Court of Appeal and its registries across the Republic of Kenya.
According to JSC, applicants must be advocates of the High Court of Kenya with at least four years of post-admission experience.
Law Clerk Post
For this post, the commission invited applications for one Law Clerk position under a five-year renewable contract, subject to satisfactory performance.
The position offers a monthly gross salary ranging from KSh 231,077 to KSh 344,688. The Law Clerk will be responsible for conducting legal research to support a judge performing judicial functions and will report directly to the designated Supreme Court judge.

The successful candidate will be deployed to the Supreme Court of Kenya in Nairobi.
Applicants for this post must be advocates of the High Court of Kenya with at least six years of post-admission experience.

- Current Practicing Certificate (if applicable)
- A recent colored passport-size photograph
- Five samples of professional writings, including judgments, court submissions, scholarly writings, or legal publications authored by the applicant.
