Uganda emerged as a key investor through the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), acquiring about 20 percent of KPC and becoming one of the company’s largest shareholders.
Through the acquisition of equity and board seats with veto rights, Uganda has direct management in the operations of the pipeline company.
In addition, approximately 65% of the company’s transit volumes are destined for Uganda, which contributes about 35% of the KPC’s revenue.
