The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has announced internship opportunities for degree and diploma holders.
NSSF in a notice said that the program aims to enable youths to gain practical experience/on-the-job training for one year.

“This is in line with the Government Youth Initiative to develop a pool of young talent for the Kenyan Labour Market. The Fund hereby invites applications from suitable Kenyan youths for the Internship Opportunities available at its Head office and branches countrywide,” the notice reads in part.
To be considered for the internship program, applicants must meet several requirements.

They must hold a first degree or diploma from an accredited institution and produce an official graduation certificate.

Applicants should also be unemployed Kenyan youth aged between 20 and 34 years and must have graduated within the last four years from the application deadline.

Further, a reference or recommendation letter from the institution of higher learning where the applicant graduated is required.
In addition, interested persons should not have undertaken any other internship or formal work experience since graduation and must be available for the full one-year internship period without interruption.
Personal attributes required
NSSF said that prospective interns must demonstrate high levels of personal integrity and ethical standards.

They should exhibit a strong goal orientation, a dynamic and self-driven personality, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as proficiency in information and communication technology.

Interns will be placed in different departments within the Fund based on their area of study and the department’s needs.

The general responsibilities will be outlined by the Heads of Departments or Supervisors upon placement.
Application Procedure
Interested candidates who meet the requirements outlined above, should submit their applications online using the application link
(NSSF 2025 Internship Program Application) to create and complete their profile.
They are also required to upload a copy of degree/diploma certificate, application letter, Curriculum Vitae (CV), National Identity card (ID) copy and the recommendation/reference letter.
According to NSSF, all applications must be submitted online on or before close of business on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Late, incomplete or hard copy applications shall not be considered.
Applicants are requested to note that the Fund does not guarantee employment after completion of the internship program.
“Successful candidates will be required to complete the one (1) year Internship without a break to fully benefit from the objectives of the program,” added NSSF.
