The Technical University of Kenya (TUK) has announced part-time teaching opportunities for the 2025/2026 academic year, calling on qualified professionals and scholars to apply for limited-term positions across its academic faculties.
In a vacancy notice released by the university, TUK is seeking experienced individuals to join its teaching staff as Part-Time Lecturers, Senior Academic Staff, and Part-Time Assistant Lecturers.
The positions span disciplines in applied sciences, engineering, social sciences, and technology.

Requirements for Positions at TUK
Applicants for Part-Time Lecturer & Senior Academic Staff positions must hold a PhD in a relevant field and show evidence of university-level teaching experience or notable professional distinction.
Candidates for Part-Time Assistant Lecturer roles are required to have at least a Master’s degree and a minimum of three years’ experience teaching at an accredited institution.
Industry experience is considered an added advantage.
Applicants must clearly indicate their area(s) of specialization.

Vacancies exist in several departments under three main faculties:
- Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology
Including departments such as Computing and Information Technologies, Health and Biomedical Sciences, and Mathematics and Statistics.
- Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment
Opportunities include Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Civil and Resource Engineering, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
- Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology
Encompassing Business and Management Studies, Creative Arts and Media, and Information Science.

- Creating an account on the portal.
- Completing the online application form.
- Uploading a single PDF file containing:
- A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified copies of PhD, Master’s, and Bachelor’s degree certificates
The application deadline is August 15, 2025. Applications must be submitted online only. Reporting dates will be communicated by the respective faculty deans.
Compensation will be based on the class level and teaching load, in accordance with the Technical University of Kenya’s approved part-time teaching rates.

The Technical University of Kenya (TUK) is a Kenyan public institution of higher learning established through the elevation of the Kenya Polytechnic University College (KPUC) to full university status.
