Detectives based at Kilimani Police Station are investigating an incident where a woman was stabbed several times in a short-stay rental apartment within Nairobi.
Speaking to the press on July 18, Patricia Muthoni Karanja narrated how she survived an attack that has left her nursing serious stab wound injuries.
“For about 40 minutes, or so, I was banging on the door, I was screaming, they would try and come in, anytime they came in I was recording them because I realized that it was either that or I am just going to go like that and no one would ever know what happened,” Patricia recounted.
Patricia further disclosed that she was invited to a meeting in Kilimani with a politician which turned into a party at a club within the same area.
However, as the party went on, the victim, the politician and two other women agreed to spend the night at a short stay rental apartment within the same environs.

Ordeal at Kilimani Apartment
While at the apartment, Patricia revealed that the two women who accompanied them turned on her and attacked her with pieces of cutlery.
“She tried to slap me, and I blocked my face, before she stabbed me, there were some forks and bowls that were laid out on the table, I guess right next to where we sat. That’s where they were getting the cutlery to break around and stab me with,” Patricia revealed.
While showing a scar on her palm, she shared that the two ladies identified as Mercy and Sally kept at it as they tried stabbing her in the face.
However, as she blocked her face Sally stabbed her on her lower left abdomen, leaving her with deep cuts and serious injuries.

Police Statement
Investigators from Kilimani police station confirmed the incident while noting the extent of her injuries terming them as too deep.
“The stab wound was too deep as I have said the lower left abdomen that’s where she got the injury,” the authorities said.
Following the assault, the perpetrators locked Patricia in the room and left her alone. However, her cry for help was heard by security guards who rescued her and called the police.
Upon getting to the police station, she was unable to record her statement as she stated that she was hysterical and confused.
“I was screaming and banging on the door and trying to get them to open it for me, then the guards heard the commotion, they immediately called the cops but the moment I got to the station, the cops could not even take my statement because I was a bit hysterical and out of you know, consciousness,” she added.
She was admitted at a nearby facility for medical attention, additionally, police have assured that they are monitoring the case and will get to the bottom of the matter.
“Investigations are on, and we will get the true names and true picture of what happened, “police said.
Murder at Short Stay Apartments
Patricia Muthoni Karanja has become the latest victim of violence reported in a short-stay rental apartment in the country.
This follows the murder of Starlet Wahu and Rita Waeni whose murders made headlines due to their gruesome nature.
