The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has refuted claims of its results portal being hacked.
Speaking to the media on Friday evening, IEBC CEO Hussein Marjan termed the claims as false
Marjan said the commission had installed foolproof security firewalls to guard the portal against any hacking attempts
“There is misinformation going round that the commission’s systems have been compromised together with the results portal where we are hosting. We would like to assure that nothing like that has happened,” said Marjan.
“Of course, we had anticipated that there are people who will try to hack our systems and we have put mechanisms in place to ensure that our systems are secured.”
Marjan noted that their portals are being closely monitored and they remain hawk-eyed to ensure that the presidential tallying process is seamless and transparent.
“We are monitoring all our systems at all levels and nothing like that has happened and I don’t think that there’s a time our system has twinked or was down for even a second,” said Marjan.
