Jeremiah Lomurkai Napotikan is the current Governor of Turkana County, Kenya.
He assumed office after the 2022 general elections and is serving his first term as governor.
Before becoming governor, Lomurkai had a political career that included serving as a councillor from 2007 to 2012, a member of the Turkana County Assembly.
Educational Background of Jeremiah Lomurkai
Jeremiah Lomurkai attended Namoruputh Primary School until 1990 and completed his secondary education at Lodwar High School in 1994.
He pursued a Certificate in Governance at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology between 2011 and 2012.
Subsequently, from 2012 to 2013, he earned a Diploma in Counselling at Kenya Methodist University, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Counselling from the same institution between 2014 and 2015.
Career Life
Lomorukai began his public service as a clerical officer at the National Registration Bureau in Turkana from 1995 to 1999.
He later joined the Turkana County Council as a public officer (2002–2007) and served as a councillor from 2007 to 2012.

Jeremiah was then elected Member of the County Assembly for Turkana (2013–2017), before serving as MP for Loima Constituency from 2017 until 2022.
In the 2022 general elections, Lomorukai was elected Governor of Turkana County on the ODM ticket and assumed office shortly thereafter.
