These acts, shared on his TikTok page, have sparked both admiration and criticism. Some see it as generosity, while others view it as vote-buying and a red flag for leadership ethics.

Edgar Obare’s “Wash Wash” Exposé
In 2021, Edgar Obare published a series of Instagram stories exposing a network of alleged money launderers in Kenya, commonly referred to as the “wash wash cartel”.
The exposé implicated celebrities, politicians, and businesspeople, some of whom were seen flaunting unexplained wealth—luxury cars, designer clothes, and large amounts of cash.
Following the exposé, Obare’s Instagram account was deactivated, and he later revealed that he was anxious and feared for his life due to threats and pressure from powerful individuals.
Riaga was one of the names mentioned in the exposé, allegedly linked to the money laundering network.
Edgar Obare’s exposé included screenshots, testimonies, and leaked conversations that suggested Riaga may have been involved in facilitating or laundering money through fake businesses or social connections.
After the exposé, Obare claimed that his brother was kidnapped and tortured, which he believed was a warning from those exposed in the scandal.
The exposé sparked public outrage and led to increased scrutiny of individuals flaunting unexplained wealth.
